Skalmo Gramlite - 3 mm Doublewide (100 cm)

The Gramlite Doublewide is the wider version of our popular 3mm sleeping pad - designed for those who want more surface area without compromising on weight, packability or durability.

At almost a meter wide, it opens up a whole new range of uses: sharing with a partner, creating a full-length floor in your tent, or providing extra comfort and freedom of movement during the night.

Despite its size, it weighs only about 255 grams - making it one of the most weight-efficient ways to increase the comfort of your pack.

Just like the standard version, this is one of the most used gadgets in the backpack. Among 88 Green Ribbon hikers in the 2024-2025 seasons, Gramlite is the sleeping pad with the most users and highest ratings.

Our thoughts

It's hard to overstate how useful this thin 3mm mat actually is. It's without a doubt one of the most versatile gadgets in my backpack - and often the one I use the most.

With it, I always have a warm and dry place to sit or lie down during breaks. Being able to stretch out and make coffee on any surface makes a big difference during a long day out.

It also protects my sleeping mat from sharp stones and uneven ground, while helping to keep it in place overnight.

The Doublewide version takes this a step further - giving you more room to move around, the ability to split the groundsheet or create a more comprehensive and protective system within the tent.

I also use it as a back panel in frameless packs - by wrapping it around the pack or folding it into the back pocket. Despite its width, it's still surprisingly easy to handle.

We started with thicker, lighter mats - but they didn't last. So we switched to this thinner, much more durable construction.

After over two years of continuous use, my own carpet shows only minimal wear. That's why we switched entirely to 3mm Gramlite.

Good to know
