With nature and mountains as constant companions, Veronika Niederer has been shaped by both craft and adventure. Born in 1956 in the Austrian village of Frankenfels, she studied in Vienna and moved to Gothenburg, Sweden at the age of 28. There she built a long and successful career as a garment technician, a profession she has worked in for over 40 years.
After many years of work and family life, her longing for nature - and especially for the mountains - grew. In 2001, at the age of 45, Veronika made her first hike in the Jämtland mountains. The proximity to the landscape awakened something deeply familiar and became the start of a life of hiking in Scandinavia and around the world.
Being in nature also means a responsibility: leave no trace. At the same time, there are basic needs that cannot be ignored. During her many hikes, Veronika realized that existing hygiene solutions were neither practical nor sustainable. Toilet paper had to be carried, cotton cloths were slow to dry - and nothing seemed well thought out.
From this experience, the idea of a reusable pee towel was born - a product that was missing from the European market. With her extensive knowledge of materials, function and sustainability, Veronika created a solution that is lightweight, quick-drying and gentle on both the user and nature.
Veni Design stands for thoughtful function, sustainable design and products created from real needs - for people who spend time outdoors and want to take care of both themselves and the environment around them.
