Hyperlite Mountain Gear Vertex 32

The Vertex 32 is a technical backpack for alpine climbing, scrambling and demanding day hikes where light weight, durability and functionality are essential. With a 32-liter volume and a Dyneema® Woven Composite 5.0 body, it combines exceptional durability with minimal weight and high weather resistance - qualities that make it ideal for everything from multi-pitch climbing to fast summit attempts.

The backpack has a slim and tapered profile that fits close to the body and allows full freedom of movement when climbing. The design makes it possible, for example, to chalk your hands without taking off the backpack. It is equipped with thoughtful details for alpine use, including ice axe attachments, a rope strap, gear loops and crampon attachments.

Vertex 32 is built for climbers and mountaineers who need a robust and minimalist backpack for technical routes, as well as for ambitious day hikers who move in steep and exposed terrain.

How to choose the right back size

It's your torso length - not your height - that determines which size backpack you should choose. Here's how to measure it:

  1. Tilt your head slightly forward and feel for the bump at the base of your neck. This is your seventh cervical vertebra (C7) and the starting point for the measurement.

  2. Measure along the spine
Ask someone to help you measure with a soft tape measure from the C7 vertebra down the natural curve of your spine.

  3. Find the iliac crest
Put your hands on your hips and feel for the top of the iliac crest - roughly where a hip belt usually rests. Place your hands so that your thumbs point backwards.

  4. Ending the measurement
The measurement ends where the tape measure crosses an imaginary line between your thumbs. That distance is your back length.

Sizes

Small: 38-43 cm (15-17")

Medium: 43-48 cm (17-19")

Large: 48-53 cm (19-21")

Tip: If your measurement is exactly between two sizes, it is usually recommended to choose the larger size for the best fit.
