Anfibio Nano RTC XL- The smart packing power

When super light equipment and high transportation capacity are required in equal measure, the Nano RTC XL comes into its own. The boat is an extremely lightweight packraft with roller closure, allowing luggage to be stored in the tube and thus providing plenty of cargo capacity. Minimal pack size, 1.2 kg weight and robust enough for combined adventures with increased load capacity.

The XL version of the Nano RTC is ideal for those who need a little more space but still want to travel ultralight. With only an additional 190g in weight, you get:

- 20 cm more interior space
- Front and rear seat holders (for variable seating position)

Therobust system of the RTC XL ensures easy and fast handling. In addition to increased load capacity, the luggage compartment also ensures a lower center of gravity and enables luggage transport that is protected from moisture and wind. The entire interior of the luggage compartment can be used as storage space.

Although the roll closure is not intended to fill the boat with air, it can be used to speed up inflation if the wind is strong enough.

Areas of use
From ultralight adventures, hiking trips, other hobbies (fishing, geocaching, etc.) to multi-day expeditions: the Nano RTC always finds its place in the backpack and is more than just a boat for short river crossings. It has its field of application above all on stagnant and calmly flowing waters. Due to its optimal weight/packing size/storage space ratio, it can also be used as a full-fledged boat for larger adventures. Of course, it is also well suited as a separate boat for children and can be quickly packed up again if not in use. Other uses include: ice sledding, wild swimming, adventure racing, canyoning, caving and urban packrafting.

What is included?
The purchase includes the packraft, pump bag, straps (to hold the packraft together when packed), repair materials (but not glue) and manual.

Backpackinglight's own tests:

We put the Anfibio Nano through its paces on a multi-day hike in Kittelfjäll, This was a big experiment for us, and we had a lot of questions going into the trip: Would the packing power hold up? Would the roll top closure leak water? Would it work well to fish from them? After the trip, we found that our fears were unfounded.

Storage systems and seats:

  • Roll top closure: We rolled at least four turns and kept the opening clean of dirt. We chose not to store our gear in the boat itself, as our backpacks were too big and we didn't feel the need. Instead, we strapped the backpacks to the bow for added stability.
  • Seats: We used the Anfibio seat with backrest and added extra foam pads for better support. This made a big difference and increased comfort significantly. After this modification, we were able to enjoy paddling more, as it strengthened our posture and improved our position in the boat.

Paddles and Pumping:

  • Paddles: We were skeptical about the fiberglass rods at first, but they worked well. We might have wished they were 5-10 cm longer.
  • Inflation: We shared two Max Pump Pro's from Flextail, which inflated the boats and moorings without any problems throughout the trip.

Overall, we were very happy with the Anfibio packrafts. They are light, packable and reliable. For the low weight and packability they are outstandingly good. If I were to hike the Green Belt in the future, I would definitely carry an Anfibio packraft.
