Otherwise, the seat is also suitable for other packrafts or boat types, as it can be placed freely. It can be used on top of a standard seat, allowing a higher and more upright sitting position. For fishing or generally on long, flat stretches of water, especially in case of back problems, the elevation has proven to be more comfortable. It can also be an advantage when paddling in standard kayak-style boats if this position is preferred!
Most users find the flat, fixed square cushion more comfortable (as opposed to a horseshoe shape for example). It also works well as a camping chair and pillow.
