MRS Nitrogen - Ultralight Packraft for the Minimalist

MRS Nitrogen is an ultra-lightweight packraft with a minimalist and stripped-down design. The aim is to keep the weight as low as possible without compromising on basic durability. To achieve this, all unnecessary features often found on packrafts have been removed - the standard version therefore does not include a seat, backrest or fins/skegs. Other details and attachments are also excluded. The result is a packraft that weighs only 880g and has a pack size of less than 1 liter, yet offers generous interior space.

Field of application

MRS Nitrogen is ideal for ultralight adventures and tours with a high proportion of land transportation. Typical uses include long hikes with shorter paddling sessions, river and stream crossings, fishing or geocaching. The boat is particularly well suited to still or calm flowing water.
Thanks to its minimal size, it fits in any backpack or bag, making it ideal as a spontaneous companion. It is quick to assemble and equally easy to pack away when not needed. The ratio of low weight to small packing volume also makes it an excellent backup boat on longer expeditions.

Construction

The Packraften's main characteristic is its minimalist design. The symmetrical hull shape provides plenty of space inside, which is particularly useful for carrying luggage. The standard version is paddled without a seat and backrest, but these can be retrofitted if required. Grab loops can also be retrofitted.

Materials and repairs

• Tubes: 70D high density nylon with thin, weather and scratch resistant urethane coating on the outside.

• Bottom: 210D high density nylon with thick, double-sided urethane coating.

The material is easy to clean and dries quickly.
If repairs are needed, Anfibio LifePatch is recommended for quick repairs in the field. Smaller holes can be sealed with Aquasure (PU glue). Larger damages can be repaired with spare fabric and contact adhesive, either at home or in the workshop.

Design and manufacturing

MRS Nitrogen is developed by MRS (Micro Rafting System), our longtime partner. The range is manufactured in small, hand-built batches in the Far East. All products are covered by an extended three-year warranty.
