Help your tent keep the rain out

Seam Grip+SIL™ is designed for sealing leaking/broken seams on silnylon tent fabrics. Creates a permanent seal that will withstand years of use.

Use Seam Grip to repair surfaces or seal seams with natural and synthetic fabrics, waterproof laminates, leather and vinyl. Seam Grip can be used to repair all types of waders and footwear, Neoprene, PVC, rubber and much more. Concentrated and waterproof, Seam Grip offers excellent adhesion, long-lasting flexibility, superior traction and abrasion resistance, with minimal shrinkage.

  • Description of the product

Gear Aid® - Seam Grip+SIL™ 28g is for seam and leak sealing on silnylon tent fabrics.

    • Permanent -Creates a permanent seam seal where applied
    • Waterproof - Provides a waterproof membrane that will not crack or loosen over time
    • Abrasion Resistant - Creates a strong repair that can withstand scuffs, washing and other wear and tear
    • Kit includes - 28g Seam Grip SIL sealant/adhesive and application brush
How to use Seamgrip:

NOTE! Wear gloves during application to avoid getting on the skin.

PREPARE: Clean the seams. Make sure it is not dirty. You can use water and brush and rub, then let it dry.

USE: Apply a thin film of Seamgrip to the inside of the seam. You can also reinforce it on the outside.

DRYING: Leave to dry overnight (about 8-12 hours - can be longer in low humidity).

Remove old silicone: SamGrip Sil can be partially removed with a coarse cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol. For easiest cleaning wear disposable rubber gloves.

STORAGE: Store in the freezer.

Seam Grip is moisture sensitive adhesive. As soon as you pop the top on the tube and expose the adhesive to moisture in the air, the countdown begins. Unfortunately, you can't stop the curing process, but you can slow it down by storing the adhesive in a dry environment like your freezer. We normally recommend storage as follows:

  • Start by moving the contents to the neck of the tube to remove any air that may be present. Place the tube in a plastic lock protection bag. Next, store the glue in a dry and cold environment like your freezer. When you're ready to use, run the tube under warm water for about a minute.
  • The glue is usually good for two years before the expiration date.
  • Apply the seam gripper to both surfaces. Let dry (cure) 15 minutes, then connect (clamp or tape) surfaces together overnight.
  • Some tents are not factory sealed and require sealing. Apply a thin film of seam gripper to the inside of the seams
  • To seal the seams of your tent, unzip it and sit in the tent for easier application. Make sure that the tent fabric is taut.
  • Apply just enough Seamgrip SIl to cover the seam and spread about 6mm outside the seam. Leave to dry overnight.
  • If a small section needs to be fixed, use Seamsel SIL to seal the part needed

Get Seamgrip on your hands.
Seam Grip will flake off naturally from your hand within a few days. You can help this process somewhat by washing your hands with soap and water and using a disposable towel to remove as much glue as possible. We do not recommend using any type of solvent on your skin.
