Extremely warm down hood with snorkel - for safe sleep and comfortable breathing in severe cold
The ROCK FRONT Snorkel Balaclava is a thoughtful addition to your quilt or sleeping bag when the temperature creeps well below zero. It protects your head, face and neck, minimizes drafts and allows for warm and moisture-regulated breathing even in really cold weather.
The unique snorkel is insulated with Climashield Apex and mesh, which allows the inhaled air to mix and warm up before it reaches the lungs. The result is significantly better comfort in sub-zero temperatures - both during sleep and during sedentary breaks. The snorkel can be adjusted to an open breathing channel or tightened to a more full-coverage mask, without collapsing or lying against the face.
The hood is insulated with 870+ fill power hydrophobic goose down, providing maximum warmth in relation to weight and pack volume. The anatomical fit hugs the neck and shoulders effectively and special fasteners ensure the hood doesn't twist when you move in your sleep.
For daytime use, the snorkel can be easily folded into the hood, making it comfortable even during activity. Yes - it may look a bit 'expedition geeky', but the warmth and functionality outweighs the bulk when it really counts.
