My own reflections

After six months of use, I have reflected on my experiences with various waterproof trail running shoes. Despite keeping moisture out, they often result in excessive heat and stickiness, making them difficult to keep dry and quickly leading to unpleasant odors. In the past, I have avoided leather shoes because of their weight and the usual tight toe box. But I've discovered that the benefits of leather, such as its sturdiness, ease of drying and softness, really appeal to me when it comes to footwear.

After hearing about Joe Nimble Wandertoes, I contacted the supplier in Sweden to test them, both in Gore-Tex and leather. Having used the Wonder Toes 2.0 in various conditions over the last 12 months, I am impressed with their performance. Especially in the leather version, they outperform the Gore-Tex in all important areas, especially comfort and ventilation. That is crucial for me when planning long hikes. My toes and feet feel much better in leather than in synthetic alternatives, and the fact that the shoes still smell fresh after months of use is incredible.

These shoes have become my trusted companions, whether I'm navigating the challenging terrain of the mountains or moving quickly through city streets. The simple yet sturdy construction has withstood everything I've put them through, and the movable toe box has changed my perception of shoe comfort. The ability to move my toes freely has not only improved my balance but also reduced foot fatigue during long days of activity.

What really impresses me is the low weight. Despite the leather construction, the Wonder Toes 2.0 feel light and responsive, which has made them the obvious choice for my adventures. On the negative side, I have replaced the laces after 4-5 months of use. Luckily, an extra pair of laces came in the box, and I liked the color of the new pair better.
