Silva Map Measurer Path - Plan your adventures with precision

A truly successful adventure starts at home at the kitchen table - with a map, compass and a carefully planned route. With Silva Map Measurer Path you get a simple but incredibly useful tool that helps you plan your hike in detail. By measuring distances directly on the map, you can quickly see how far each stage will be and avoid unpleasant surprises along the way.

The analog map meter is equipped with eight preset scales - from 1:15,000 to 1:750,000 - making it compatible with most maps, whether you're planning a mountain hike, bike ride or canoeing route. Plus, once you know your average speed, you can easily calculate how long each leg will take.

Silva Map Measurer Path is a classic navigation tool that never lets you down - regardless of batteries, weather or technical problems. An obvious choice for those who want control, overview and confidence in planning their next adventure.

Here's how you do it

  1. Place the reel at the starting point
Place the small roller at the starting point of your planned route on the map.

  2. Roll along the route
Follow your intended route by slowly rolling the wheel along paths, curves and roads. The wheel spins and automatically measures the distance on the map.

  3. Read the distance
When you reach your destination, look at the meter's dial - it will tell you how far it is in real life. The meter displays several different scales simultaneously (1:15 000 up to 1:750 000), so you can easily read the scale that matches your map.

  4. Calculate time and stages
If you know how fast you usually walk, you can easily calculate how long each part of the walk will take.

Tips for best results

  • Lay the map flat and keep an even pressure as you scroll.

  • Roll slowly and carefully along the route for high accuracy.

  • Perfect for hiking, biking, canoeing and mountaineering.
