Tarptent Stratospire 2 with Solid inner tent

Lightweight, spacious and tested in the real world - a tent you can trust

The most used tent at Green Belt 2024 - for good reason. This ultra-lightweight two-person tent combines low weight, generous space and proven durability in a mountain environment. Perfect for those who want to carry light but still sleep soundly, whether you're doing short hikes or long expeditions.

With a total weight of only 1245 grams (including solid inner, poles and accessories), the tent offers plenty of space for two people with wide sleeping pads, double vestibules for packing and two separate entrances - a luxury in the small format. The thoughtful construction with carbon fiber PitchLoc™ strut system provides stability even in high winds, while the smart ventilation keeps condensation at bay.

The silicone-coated ripstop polyester outer tent won't stretch in wet conditions, dries quickly and has a water column of over 5000 mm. The extra-durable nylon 66 floor protects against moisture from below. The tent is quickly erected using two trekking poles and stands firmly even in exposed places.

This is the tent for those who demand light weight - but refuse to compromise on function, comfort or safety.

The patented StratoSpire 2 is the two-person version of StratoSpire 1. For trekking pole users, this shelter is a gem: save weight and use your trekking poles for a strong, wind- and snow-resistant setup. StratoSpire's unique, patented design provides an unprecedented amount of living and vestibule space, perfect for extensive gear and bike storage

Our thoughts

Tarptent Stratospire uses two trekking poles for set up, the inner tent is put together with the outer tent - so you don't have to set them up separately in the rain and so on.The inner tent can easily be taken out and the tent is then used as a floorless tent.

Something to keep in mind when using the Tarptent Stratospire is that it uses two trekking poles for pitching, you can of course buy two tent poles instead.

Bear:
I am very happy with my Stratospire! It was not difficult to do the seam sealing. I did it indoors because of the weather and it went well to tighten up the tent with some weights etc. The first few times I set it up I had to think a little to understand where the openings would end up because the rods are not "straight" or symmetrically in the middle, but now I have it under control. I'm glad I didn't buy a smaller tent (Notch) even though it probably would have worked well too. Very good vestibules with lots of space, and having two sides simplifies all handling. I haven't camped in any storms but it feels stable and good even when it's windy. And also durable! The fabric holds a lot, e.g. I hurt myself when a branch stuck up through the floor but it was only me that broke, not the tent. So all in all, super happy! Thanks again for all the help with the purchase, great to be able to discuss details that way.

One little tip I read and used is to take some leftover seam sealer and click out on the floor of the tent and also on the underside of the sleeping pad. It prevents slipping around on an otherwise quite slippery floor.
