Gossamer gear hip belt for Gorilla and Mariposa backpacks

This is the hip belt used on Mariposa, Gorilla and Silverback backpacks. Available in 3 sizes and with our updated and larger integrated zippers. The belt in size Small has one zippered pocket and one mesh pocket and size Medium and Large have two zippered pockets. The aluminum brace can now be connected from the backpack to this belt, making weight distribution more comfortable.

The belt can be used with all 2012 and newer Robic or Dyneema backpacks without any changes until the 2024 update.

This belt does not fit 2011 and older Silnylon Gorilla and Mariposa backpacks.

Padding & Webbing

• Small belt: 63 cm (27") padding and 35 cm (14") straps on each side. Small belt has a zippered pocket and a mesh pocket.
• Medium belt: 73 cm (29") padding and 38 cm (15") straps on each side.
• Large belt: 83 cm (33") padding and 40 cm (16") straps on each side.

• 70 denier robic high-tensil nylon
• Select use of Darlington Mesh
• Select use XTC harness liner fabric

To install the hip belt:
Due to logistical issues, the hip belt must be shipped uninstalled from the backpack. It is very easy to install, but important to do it right otherwise the backpack may break. We will not replace broken backpacks due to incorrect installation.

Step 1: Remove the hip belt and find the two fasteners on the "carabiner side" ie - where all carabiners are located. There are two thick fabric brackets where the aluminum frame should be inserted.

Step 2: Remove the seat cushion from the back of the backpack.

Step 3: Open the backpack and find the carabiner at the top that holds the aluminum frame. Open it up and lift the frame up a few centimeters.

Step 4: Install the hip belt by opening up the back of the backpack and inserting the hip belt.

Step 5: Match the aluminum frame with the two mounts of the hip belt and push the frame down into the two mounts.

Step 6: Make sure all the carabiners are fastened together and in the right place and the fastener at the top of the backpack is closed again.
