Volume in main bag according to BPL test

We at Backpackinglight have measured the actual volume of the main bag ourselves by filling it with plastic balls - an accurate way to get a realistic value. The bag is marketed as 60 liters, but our measurements show that the main bag holds about 50 liters.

Outdoor Gear Lab gives a volume of 54 liters, which is close to our results. However, if you include the large front stretch pocket and the generous side pockets, it is quite possible to carry up to about 60 liters in total in the Mariposan.

Overall, the Mariposan is a very comfortable and well-balanced backpack, especially appreciated by long-distance hikers who want to combine comfort with low weight. PVT frame system



Our patent-pending PVT frame system is designed to maximize your comfort on the trails. The closed aluminum frame provides rigidity and strength that matches the contour of your back. It slides into the pocket of a pivot belt that fits you like a glove. Together, the system lets your pack move with your natural gait.

Hip belt


The Mariposa comes with a straight Mariposa hip belt in size M.
According to GG, the M hip belt fits a hip circumference between 76.2-146 cm


Redesigned load lifters

The Mariposa load lifters have been redesigned together with our new frame for improved performance and better load carrying capacity.

Size of the lift

To measure your torso length accurately, follow these steps:

1. Find the C7 Vertebra: Bend your neck slightly forward to feel for the prominent bone at the base of your neck. This is the C7 vertebra, where your measurement begins.

2. Find the Iliac Crest: Cup your hands over your hip bones, then slide them towards your back until they meet at the center of your spine. This is the midpoint between your iliac crest.

3. Measure Torso Length: With the help of a friend, measure from the C7 vertebra to the midpoint between your iliac crest. This measurement gives you your torso length.

Sizes:

• Small: 41 cm - 46 cm
• Medium: 46 cm - 51 cm
• Large: 51 cm - 56 cm

If you fall between sizes:

• Go down a size for a tighter fit around the shoulders and a higher hip belt position.
• Go up a size for a lower hip belt fit.
