One of the most natural instincts while going to sleep is to cover yourself with a blanket. We know this feeling from the first days of our lives. Classic sleeping bags with a zipper, although tightly wrapping the whole user's nody, have several disadvantages: the zipper has its own weight, can jam, and searching for it in a twisted sleeping bag sometimes causes problems, especially when we are lying on it. A fastened sleeping bag also restricts the freedom of arm movement. To remedy this, some people use topquilts. This type of product gives you greater freedom, comparable to sleeping under a blanket at home, but all the TQs on the market have two major drawbacks: in the upper part they are just a rectangle that requires gymnastics to wrap around the shoulders and their use requires buckles, pullers, stoppers, which can be almost impossible to find in the dark. Our goal was therefore to combine the advantages of a sleeping bag and a topquilt… and at the same time to remove the disadvantages of both!
Our thoughts:
It took a long time, but we finally got these home after a long delay in the factory. I can honestly say the wait was worth it! The Lesovik Hex topquilt is a high quality, polish made quilt. Similar to the Thermarest vesper quilt in features and sizing, the Hex is on a different leven as far as quality is concerned. The Lesovik Hex topquilt, like just about everything from Poland, is a sincerely high quality product. The design is top-notch, the craftsmanship is only equalled by Katabatic gears quilts. That's saying something. The Hex topquilt comes in two sizes Large at 195cm and Medium at 180cm. It also comes in at two temperatures 400g down at -6 celcius and 200 g down at +3 celcius.
Weight
With 400g of 800cuin down, the Hex topquilt is certainly light at 621grams on our scale and the large comes in at 656 grams.
A great mix of weight and warmth.
Features:
NIce and roomy design, H baffle construction - so no cold spot, two inside pockets and ultralight. Minimalistic and excellent design.
Overall:
When I first saw these quilts in 2022 I wanted to purchase all of them, I didn't want any other retailer to have them. It was love at first sight. For me I am looking for minimal design and weight, with maximum quality. The Lesovik really fills that nisch. I just hope that more people will try them, it's always difficult to sell a completely new product from a relatively unknown producer, but, I think if you buy this, you will never regret it.
