Luxe Outdoor develops its already popular Minipeak XL, this time with snow skirt and mesh inner tent.

Minipeak XL PRO is a pyramid-shaped tent designed for lightweight adventures in harsh winter climates. It is easy to set up with a center pole and at least four ground pegs. As a center pole, you can use a trekking pole with an extension or dedicated center pole. If you choose to use only the outer tent, it can accommodate up to 3 people. If you choose to use a stove, the XL works as an excellent 2 person tent or very spacious solo tent for winter trips.

Seam sealing

The Luxetent's tent seams are not seam sealed at the factory. The purchase includes seam sealer, which is specially made for the purpose. The easiest way to seam seal is to pitch the tent on a rain-free day (be sure to tension the tent tightly, so that the seams are properly tightened) and seam seal all seams from the outside of the tent. Our experience is to mix the Seam Sealer with equal parts white spirit and brush the mixture onto the seams with a fine brush. This way the tent seams absorb the seam sealer and become completely waterproof. You can also use your finger and "brush" the Seam Sealer undiluted onto the tent seams, but this takes longer, uses more seam sealer, and usually doesn't turn out as nicely.

Our thoughts:

The MInipeak XL PRO is a great tent that is also affordable. Everything from the quality of the stitching to the size of the inner tent to the non-hanging outer tent makes the Minipeak XL PRO unique in its class. This tent can easily fit one person and equipment for hiking or hunting and a tent stove in colder weather. Without an inner tent, the Minipeak XL PRO fits two people with double entrances and exits.

The Minipeak XL PRO has quickly become my first choice for colder climates. The sturdier material and built-in stove outlet keep you comfortable even in harsh winter conditions. The tent is massive, at least massive for one person, even someone who is 190 cm like me fits without problems. Without the inner tent, even someone who is much taller can be accommodated without any trouble.

The fact that the Minipeak XL PRO comes with both inner tent and stove socket at a very good price is actually incredible. Not to mention that it also includes tent pegs.
