Skalmo Inside Out Hoodie - two sides, two functions

A hoodie with two personalities.
The new Skalmo Inside Out Hoodie is the world's first Octa® fleece hoodie that can be worn both ways, depending on activity and weather.

With the smooth, technical surface on the outside - with the insulation on the inside. So you can use it as a warm mid-layer when you're standing still, cooking in camp or need to keep warm during breaks.

Turn it inside out and the brushed Octa® insulation will be on the outside. This makes the hoodie cooler, more breathable and more wind-resistant - perfect for activity, movement and high heart rates. The tiny fibers in the insulation act almost like a fur coat: they break the wind and allow excess heat to escape.

The reversible design came about by chance - when our seamstress happened to sew a sample with the insulation on the outside. The result was unexpectedly good. The heat dropped, ventilation increased and the comfort was just right for movement. We realized we could create something completely new: a hoodie that you adjust to the situation yourself.

Together with our seamstresses, we developed the world's first reversible Octa Hoodie, with sewn-down seams, logos on both sides and a clean, functional design with no pockets or drawstrings in the hood - inspired by our classic Skalmo Alpha Hoodie.

Brief about the material: Octa® Fleece

Octa® Fleece is an active insulation material that works over a wide temperature range (approx. 0-20°C).
Its hollow, brushed fibers store heat efficiently without becoming heavy, while the smooth, breathable surface releases excess heat.
The material is extremely lightweight, durable and dirt-repellent - perfect for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to minimize weight without compromising comfort.

Octa 50 uses a thinner version of Octa® fibers - lower density and more open structure.
→ Extremely lightweight, highly breathable and quick-drying.
→ Provides moderate warmth but very good moisture transport.
→ Best suited for high-intensity activities (trail, climbing, running, cycling, etc.).

Octa 80 has a denser fiber construction and slightly higher weight.
→ More insulating and wind resistant, but still very light.
→ Provides noticeable heat gain and works better as a mid-layer in colder climates or when standing still for longer periods.

Feel and structure

• Octa 50: feels airy, silky and slightly more elastic. Gives an 'almost invisible' feel on the body.

• Octa 80: feels slightly denser and fuller, but still feather light. More "classic fleece" feel but technically airy.
