The X-Mid Pro 1 is a truly spacious tent with more interior space than any other 1P trekking pole tent. Not only is it spacious in the context of super lightweight tents, it's actually more spacious than almost any 1P tent - at any weight.
The X-Mid Pro 1 accomplishes this with its space-efficient geometry that places the two poles further apart to create 25-50% more interior space than competing tents, including more usable length, headroom and shoulder room.
The floor length is a generous 90 inches, which equates to approximately 228.6 centimeters. This is combined with steep end walls so that the length is still 228.6 centimeters 38.1 centimeters above the ground. The 81.28 cm wide floor area can easily accommodate the widest sleeping pads with plenty of room to spare. You can comfortably sit up along the entire length of the tent, while two people can easily sit together in the tent.
In addition, there are double large vestibules that place the main area alongside the door instead of blocking it. Here you can store your backpack and other equipment.
A design that simplifies and takes up little space
The X-Mid design was created for tough conditions where you need protection that works, and this elegant and capable simplicity continues in the X-Mid Pro 1.
Our thoughtful design includes an ultra-lightweight 4-pin set, magnetic door buttons for easy one-handed operation, entrances that aren't blocked by bars, large ledges that place the main area to the side of the entrance instead of blocking it, a tensioned floor that lies stretched and wrinkle-free, zippers that can be operated with one hand, and dual interior pockets.
The X-Mid Pro 1 also packs smaller than any other 1P DCF tent at just 11.4cm x 25.4cm. Thanks to the lack of poles and stays, it packs short enough to be stored horizontally in your backpack.PATENTED GEOMETRY
The X-Mid shape has been developed from the first principles of basic geometry to be as weight efficient, simple and functional as possible.
This includes avoiding all the common pitfalls of trekking pole tents, such as a complicated setup, mandatory support guy lines, poles blocking the entrances and lack of interior space.

Do I need to have a footprint?
Compared to our 15D woven floor, we find durability is similar for the two floor options. DCF has an advantage in resisting tears while the woven floor has an advantage with abrasion but overall durability is quite similar. As such, the decision on which floor to choose mostly comes down to cost and weight. The DCF floors come at a higher cost but enable an extra weight savings of about 2oz / 60g.
Aside from these main considerations, there are a few smaller considerations. A woven floor has the advantage of packing smaller yet and the silicone coating on the bottom can be re-applied in the future if needed, while a DCF floor dries faster and is quieter. Both floors can be repaired with repair tape, but the repair tapes for DCF are color matched to the material so they look better.
Overall, we recommend choosing the woven floor for the best value and smallest packed size, or choosing the DCF floor for the absolute lowest weight and faster drying.
