The Skalmo Alpha Hoodie is an ultralight midlayer made from Polartec® Alpha™ Direct 90, designed and manufactured in Umeå. Weighing approximately 145–175 grams, it combines high insulation with a breathable construction that wicks away excess heat and moisture when you’re on the move.
Wear it over a base layer while hiking, under your shell jacket when the wind picks up, or as a warm layer at camp. It takes up little space in your backpack and is easy to carry when every gram counts.
Polartec Alpha Direct – Insulation for an Active Lifestyle
Polartec Alpha was originally developed for U.S. special forces, who needed insulation for varying activity levels. Alpha Direct builds on that technology with an open structure that can be used without an outer shell or lining.
The airy fibers trap warm air while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape. This makes the hoodie a versatile mid-layer when your pace and the temperature change.
